On National Rural Health Day (NRHD), join NOSORH for Connected and Protected: The Power of Rural Cybersecurity. Experts from the Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity, Dakota State University, Google, and Madison Regional Health System will share real-world stories of collaboration, innovation, and strategies for building resilience against evolving cyber threats in rural communities.

Panelists
Ann Cleaveland is the Executive Director of UC Berkeley’s Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity and chairs the Consortium of Cybersecurity Clinics, which she co-founded in 2021. She’s held leadership roles in philanthropy, nonprofits, and industry, including at the Berkeley Institute for Data Science and the ClimateWorks Foundation. Cleaveland holds an MBA in Sustainable Management from Presidio Graduate School and a B.A. from Rice University. Her research interests include cybersecurity futures, digital risk communication, and cyber and AI governance.
Dr. Ashley Podhradsky is the Vice President for Research & Economic Development at Dakota State University and serves on the Board of Directors for First Bank & Trust. Her work focuses on cybersecurity research, education, and applied outreach. She co-founded CybHER, a program that introduces students to cybersecurity through hands-on activities and mentorship. Dr. Podhradsky has earned multiple honors, including the EmBe “Young Woman of Achievement” award, the Merrill Hunter Award for Excellence in Research, and recognition as a New America Cybersecurity Fellow and American Association for the Advancement of Science IF/THEN Ambassador.
Josh Entringer is the Director of Information Technology at Madison Regional Health System. In his 11 years with MRHS, including three as IT Director, he has led efforts to strengthen cybersecurity and support the hospital’s mission through innovative technology solutions.
Sarah is a Senior Program Manager in Google Cloud’s OCISO and the lead for Google’s Rural Healthcare Cybersecurity Initiative, focused on building the digital resiliency of rural health systems. Having spent over a decade at Google, Sarah has led multiple initiatives centered on cybersecurity workforce development, community engagement, and customer-centric services. She is actively engaged in the broader security community and serves on the board of Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS).
